WHAT IS ANIMAL ASSISTED THERAPY?
Animal assisted therapy(AAT) is a goal-directed intervention in which an animal is an integral part of the treatment process. AAT is directed, delivered and documented by a mental health or human services professional with a specific clinical goal for a particular individual in mind.

SERVICES OFFERED AT AAI
Support That Makes a Difference
Here at AAI, we use licensed therapists and certified canines. Dogs respond with a unique insight into exactly who we are in the moment. They are gifted reflectors of our true selves because their very survival depends on reading us accurately but without judgment. Because they can read and respond to the nonverbal message we are always sending, they begin to act in ways that feel familiar to other relationships or dynamics of our lives. However, If you have allergies or are not a fan of the fur babies, any and all services can be provided "animal free".

JUDGE
Hi I am Judge, I am a 2 year old German Shepherd. I love to work with all kinds of humans. I love to run and play with my clients but I also know when I need to calm down and focus. I am very intelligent and I seek to please my human in charge. I am young so I may need a reminder to mind my P's and Q's but I am always looking for ways to make my human client happy.
CHOPPER
Hi I am Chopper. I am a ten year old Labrador Retriever. My family adopted me from Freedom Service Dogs 9 years ago. I work great with humans who need extra support while telling their stories. My nose works great so I can tell when things get hard to talk about. I always lend a furry pillow to help my clients get through their story.
DELILAH
Hi, I am Delilah. I am a five year old Catahoula Leopard dog. I have a ton of energy and I am smart as a whip. I am very independent and strong willed, but I am easily redirected. I love working with young adults and teenagers, as I can be a little too rambunctious for small and/or elderly humans. I am very lovable and affectionate but I am also focused and intuitive, so I can pick up on my clients subtle signals of distress or discomfort and then I do whatever I can to soothe them and let them know that everything is going to be alright.
